As the classic car industry continues to evolve, it brings exciting new product ranges into our Suffolk factory including our newest kid on the block, the Peugeot 205 CTi carpet. Our range of moulded carpets for the hot hatch range continues Newton Commercial's journey as the leader in classic car interior trim at the forefront of high quality product development. Over the last five years, we have worked tirelessly developing a new range of thermoformed carpets made to original specification for the new classics on the scen, using our knowledge gained through over 40 years of experience in classic car upholstery. 

Developing the best

Our Peugeot 205 CTi carpet began where all our moulded carpets begin with a classic car in our Suffolk factory. All our moulded carpets are made using a male and female form and our skilled team take a fibreglass splash from the floorpan of the car so that our moulded carpets fit first time. The benefit of a thermoformed carpet is that fitting is much easier than a flat lay carpet as the contours of the floor, tunnel and bulkhead have all been created before you begin fitting which is especially true for our one piece Peugeot 205 CTi carpet. 

Once the moulds have been created, we start initial test production back into the Peugeot, testing the fit of the one piece carpet and developing our underfelt kit that comes with our carpet set. Sourcing an original moulded carpet for both a RHD and LHD model means that we are able to replicate the original shape and style heelmatting and wear pads and have also been able to develop centre console sections for both the Phase 1 and Phase 1.5 CTi as we have for our already popular Peugeot 205 GTi carpets. We use our hard wearing modern nylon carpet to produce our Peugeot 205 CTi moulded carpets, available in a range of colours as close to original production colours as possible. Formed in 1979 by husband and wife team Vera and Richard Newton, Newton Commercial is the industry leader in the manufacture of interior trim and upholstery for classic cars and are celebrating 40 years of experience in the classic car and commercial industry in 2019. A number of our team have been with us for over 25 years and have continued to share their knowledge of manufacturing classic car interior throughout our nearly 60 strong workforce in our Suffolk factory.  We are proud to be the only British Motor Heritage approved trimmer in the world, celebrating quality and an attempt to supply genuine components for classic British cars.
