Newton Commercial actively invites club members and small groups of family and friends to visit our two factories in Suffolk, to see then how we manufacture the trim for your classic car. The tour will include refreshments on arrival, a safety briefing and introductory talk by Jonny Newton our Operations Director, before an in depth tour of our two facilities.
The tour will give you access to our prolific stores and despatch Areas, so you can see how we ship our goods worldwide. You will get a chance to walk through our cutting, sewing, welding and trimming areas and see our skilled craftsmen and women in action and ask all sorts of technical questions. You will also be given access to our research and development factory, where new and old products are continually developed and tested.
This tour has given people in the past an opportunity to see why Newton Commercial has developed into the best trimmer of its kind in the world. We have always kept to the original designs, patterns and materials and you will see why the manufacturing process is so fascinating . You can ask questions on custom trimming, tricks to the trade and our trim shop where we refurbish the cars in house.
Apart from supplying trim for the above marques, Newton Commercial is a major supplier of trim for MGB, MGA, Midget and Triumph to the trade worldwide. Although we do not supply these products directly to the public, you can purchase these items at the end of the tour. You will then have an opportunity to have a question and answer session, over coffee, with Richard or Vera Newton, our owners and a chance to buy all our trim parts at a discounted rate.
Tours are available Tuesday to Friday 10am - 3.00pm, in groups of 4-20. The tour can take upto 2 hours.
Many groups who have toured our facilities, have spent time on the Heritage coast. We have stunning driving opportunities nearby for groups who wish to see the unspoilt Suffolk countryside and coastline. Also the vibrant towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold are only a short drive away. We can offer travel plans and accommodation at nearby resorts on the coast or you can simply have breakfast or lunch at one of the many restaurants and pubs.
